SAAA assists older persons who wish to live at home, preventing/delaying institutionalization and saving tax dollars. SAAA provides in-home services including meals on Wheels, personal care, and housework. SAAA also provides accessible, pre-scheduled transportation (WellTran) for persons 18 and older with disabilities and seniors. Seven Active Living Centers offer nutritious noon meals, informative/entertaining programs and opportunities for fellowship. Certified VICAP Insurance Counselors assist individuals with one-on-one information to make informed Medicare decisions. SAAA operates 3 Social model group respite centers for person with early to mid-stage Alzheimer’s disease, employees an Ombudsman to deal with quality of care long term care issues and provides information and referral assistance.
